Parish Church of St Giles

 Mothering Sunday Posies

Navigation

Every year, as in many churches, we at S Giles make Mothering Sunday Posies to handout to children and mothers in the congregation. The posies are made on the Saturday morning by the ladies of the parish. This year's colour theme is yellow, green and white, and below you can see how you or your children can make a very simple but effective posey for Mothering Sunday.

Please note that when scissors are being used an adult should be available to help small children

Many different kinds of spring flowers can be used for your posies, but small spray carnations are wonderful, as they survive a long time without being placed in water. Spray carnations are also availabe in a multitude of colours throughout the year and can be highlighted by using different coloured tissue paper as well.

Enjoy making your posies!
