The Children's Sunday School at S Giles meets on Sunday mornings at 10.30am. The children process into church with the choir and clergy and join us for the first part of the Eucharist.

The children make their way to the Godly Play Room after the Collect where they have their own Liturgy of the Word. The children rejoin the adult congregation at communion and then share what they have done with the adults.

A full Child Protection Policy is in place at St Giles and is displayed throughout the church.

S Giles Child Protection Policy

The Parochial Church Council of this Parish have agreed and adopted the following Policy on Child Protection.

*We commit ourselves to nurture, protect and safeguard all our members, particularly our children and young people. *We recognise that our work with children and young people is the responsibility of the whole church community.

*We accept and endorse the principles for protecting children outlined in the Home Office's 'Safe from Harm' Code of Practice, the House of Bishop's Policy Statement 1999 and the Diocese of Liverpool policy of Protection for All.

*We undertake to exercise proper care in both the selection, appointment, and the support, of those working with children, whether paid or volunteer.

*We wish to support parents and carers who have responsibility for bringing up children or caring for vulnerable adults.

*The exploitation of any relationship for self gratification will not be tolerated and allegations of the abuse of children will be taken seriously and the appropriate authorities informed.

The PCC has appointed a child protection co-ordinator to monitor compliance of these policies and procedures.

The PCC shall review this policy annually.
