The ‘Faces of Aintree’ photographic competition is to be a celebration of our culture and community as captured through photography; an exciting and innovative project as part of our celebrations for the Liverpool Year of Culture. It is hoped that the competition entries will form a lasting archive of our village for future generations.
Entry to the competition is £1 per photograph (max 3 entries per person) and is open to everyone living or working in Aintree Village.
Photographs must be taken in Aintree Village during 2008. Subjects can be taken from any aspect of our community, its people, sport, nature, buildings, landscape, in fact anything as long as it concerns Aintree Village life. Photographs can be in colour or black and white, and must be 20 x 25cm, (10 x 8ins) in size and printed on gloss photographic paper. Artistic effects (lens, Photoshop, etc) are acceptable.
All entries will be included in a major exhibition being held at S Giles Church, Aintree Lane, opening on 4 October 2008. Money raised will go to the Woodlands Hospice, Aintree.
The 2008 competition has the following categories and prizes:
Adult over 18 1st £50, 2nd £25, 3rd £10
Under 18 1st £50, 2nd £25, 3rd £10
Deadline for submission of all photographic entries is 6pm on Friday, 26 September 2008.
