What's inside?
The nave and the chancel form the main body of our church.
As you can see, it is a bright, warm and welcoming area.
There is also a comfortable "kid's corner" to the left of the picture that is best appreciated in person!
This is stocked with a range of toys, books, and colouring for our younger members during services.
We are lucky to have a Henry Willis organ,
played by Andrew Mitchell, our parish organist.
We have and a carillon of eight bell that augment our services.
This is a type of arrangement called an "Ellacombe Chime".
In 2021, we joined with churches around the world to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Ellacombe chimes' invention.
Usually, one of our children is asked to help ring it at communion and Amanda or Joyce ring before the 10:30 services.
They are always happy to meet anyone interested in learning!
Where's quiet to pray?
We think our church as a whole has a peaceful feel to it.
But there are times when you may want to have a quieter space
to pray - as noise can carry in the nave!
The Lady & St Peter's chapels are where our early Sunday morning
and smaller services are held.
The Lady Chapel is found through the right hand door seen on the picture.
The St Peter's chapel is our converted baptistry and named after
our mother church at St Peter's, Warbreck Moor in 2005.

Do you have any calm spaces?
Our Godly Play Room is carpeted room full of Bible based toys and a calm space for supervised children to enjoy.
If you are using this room; please keep the door open so you can hear the services too.
The Godly Play resources tell Bible stories that teach children to engage with words they hear in church;
and can help them become more aware of God’s presence in their lives.
It is a fully equipped space that is a "resource library" for our local churches.
Where's the loo?
Head to the top of church, down the right hand corridor, right at the Lady Chapel, straight down the corridor and left through 2 doors.
Our toilet is wheelchair accessible, with a grab rail, but is not "Changing Places" standard.
There is also a baby changing facility in this toilet. Please take any soiled nappies with you - thanks!
Please ask one of the clergy, a warden or the person handing the hymn books out if you aren't sure.
Can we feed our children?
Yes.
In 2021, St Giles was recognised as a Breastfeeding Friendly Church.
There is an armchair and a bag of essentials in the children's corner.
Water can be heated to warm a bottle. Please ask for a glass of water for you if desired!
'Living Spaces' Garden
At the side of our church is a small, urban community garden. Not only is it a peaceful and sheltered spot, it provides an important outdoor space for wedding photos and Easter services.

The Garden of Rest
Secluded just behind St Giles Church, next to the Vicarage, is our Garden of Rest.
It is a place of peace where the ashes of loved ones can be interred.
The garden is maintained, cared for and offers a fitting place for a final resting place.
The Garden of Rest is open throughout daylight hours.
To inter a loved one's ashes, please contact the Vicar or a Churchwarden for a booking form and the current fees.
